I’m an expat from the U.S., now residing in Israel. Culture shock? What’s that? My passion for God, along with a professional background in legal, civic, and interfaith affairs, prepared me for transition to life in Israel. I continue to take satisfaction in helping others by encouraging creative self-sufficiency and providing assistance to nonprofit programs.
For relaxation, I value times spent with close friends and appreciate music festivals (have timbrel, will travel). Designing personalized food and gift baskets is fun, and sharing in the joy of the local poor and travelers who receive them is uplifting to me.
The name Meira means “one who illuminates.” It is a privilege as well as a right to express views, and I have for years participated online under my real name because I stand behind my every statement. As a person of faith who enjoys freedom of thought, I don’t presume to speak for everyone. I only ask readers to consider my words carefully.
